Bladder Problems
There are many conditions that can cause you to lose control of your bladder. The most common causes are weak pelvic floor muscles and a bladder that is irritable and used to being emptied too often.
The problem can become a vicious circle where you find your life revolving round the fear of not finding a toilet on time. It sounds ridiculous but your bladder starts to take control of your life.
Women often do not seek help as they feel the only treatment on offer is surgery. This could not be further from the truth and statistics show that with the correct pelvic floor programme of exercise and re-education symptoms of bladder leakage can be cured or greatly improved. The muscles take time to strengthen but there are often a few lifestyle changes that help you notice an improvement in your bladder symptoms quite quickly.
