General Physio
Physiotherapy treats a wide variety of muscle and joint pains using manual techniques. It is one of the 'natural therapies' that does not rely on drugs. Many of the techniques used help to speed up the bodies healing process.
The main aims of treatment are;
- To diagnose and explain what is causing your problem. Many people have been given very little information about their problem or injury.
- To show you how to speed up your recovery and reduce the risk of recurrence by appropriate exercise programmes and advice
- To treat the problem area - reducing pain and enabling you to return to normal activities
Back and neck pain: Included in this group are conditions such as sciatica, 'slipped discs' and 'trapped nerves'. Pain can build up over a period of time and can often due to poor posture and overload on the joints in the spine.
Joint pain: This can be caused by sprains and strains, arthritis (or 'wear and tear') or a specific injury and can effect any joint in the body.
Muscle, Tendon and Ligament Injury: Many people think these problems will only affect sportsmen and women. Anyone can develop conditions such as tennis elbow' and 'frozen shoulder' which are often caused by repetitive strains in our daily routine both at home or work.
